STARTING SALARY
Minimum starting salary is $20/hour plus an additional $1.25/hour for working 2nd or 3rd shift.

POSITION SUMMARY
Set up orders for machine and direct crew to produce the finest quality product at rates and standards consistent with the Company's desire to be a Preferred Supplier of cost effective, top quality products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure efficient staffing for machine, inform supervisor when problems arise.
2. Set up computer for daily work load.
3. Walk down length of machine to ensure it is ready to run.
4. Monitor glue levels; maintain a clean and efficient glue system.
5. Check calipers and length; adjust as needed.
6. Document data collection.
7. Be in constant communication with supervisors and crew members.
8. Maintain productions reports.
9. Maintain sample rack.
10. Participate in continuous improvement and effectively communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position.
11. All other reasonable duties as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in all phases of machine and department operation as needed for breaks, changes, or special projects.
2. Keep up to date with any ongoing machine improvements.
3. Maintain cleanliness to ensure safety of all personnel.
4. Foster an attitude of lean thinking, sustain improvements and motivation the rest of the crew to not be satisfied with status quo.
REQUIREMENTS
The Crew Leader must hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance,, and state or smell. The employee must regularly life and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally life and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and ability to adjust focus.
HOURS
Persons hired are required to be available to work Monday through Friday. 1st shift– 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 2nd shift – 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, 3rd shift –10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Overtime is also required which can include 12 hour shifts, some Saturdays and occasionally Sundays. Qualified candidates will be assigned to a shift and not required to rotate shifts.
