We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Product Specialist for our very dynamic Measurement & Control Solutions division in Dayton, OH.

Job Summary

The Product Specialist provides commercially aware applications technical support to the worldwide sales team, performing sensor feasibility studies on customer samples, demos in house or on site and conducting site surveys to make recommendations for implementation of process near infrared with the goal of enhancing sales opportunities.

Through interaction with customers and understanding their process measurement needs, the Product Specialist needs to identify market and product development opportunities, innovative applications and competitive information which is to be channeled back to the Market Manager. A “Getting the job done mentality” means this is not a 9 to 5 role and will require periods of international travel with some trips 2-3 weeks in duration. Education and Experience Requirements

• Degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Physicist, Chemical Engineering) ; Bachelor's Degree Preferred .

• 2 - 5 years of work experience in a related position

• Acquire knowledge of other technologies or measurements used by a customer, their strengths and weaknesses and feedback to the Market Manager areas of overlap or synergy to the business – distributing a report summary as appropriate

• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access & PowerPoint

Skills and Abilities

• Good laboratory and reporting skills with the ability to recommend, in well reasoned reports, the correct process application solution.

• Ability to gain the trust, confidence and technical respect of our customers, our worldwide sales and distribution team and internal staff

• Ability to work independently and to make sound decisions while under pressure

• Strong organizational ability with good planning skills

• Self motivated with a flexible attitude and readiness to work until the job is complete

• Be a proactive, commercially savvy and scientifically inquisitive problem solver

• Ability to travel as necessary

Travel Required

• Global – approx. 35% -40% will require periods of international travel with some trips 2-3 weeks in duration
