The Produce Department Team Leader is directly responsible and accountable for the successful operations of the Produce Department. Those that are successful in this role will have the ability to motivate and communicate effective while ensuring observance of food safety, produce quality, and enforcement of established principals, code of conduct, and other policies by all staff within the department.
Other responsibilities and attributes include (not limited to):
- Developing a product costing, mark-up system and pricing strategy in order to meet departmental inventory control and financial goals by participating in departmental planning functions, such as budgeting, goal setting and product mix decisions.
- Working with the Assistant Department Team Leader to interview, hire, train, and evaluate department staff to address opportunities for growth.
- Implementing systems to promptly address requests, credits, special orders, and questions concerning product.
- Monitoring equipment performance and arrange outside maintenance assistance as needed.
- Identifying problems within the department and have the ability to either solve it, or bring forth the problem for assistance to store leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
- Food Safety certification. If not currently certified, will commit to completing certification within 1 month.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to adhere and follow safety and wellness guidelines. Safety conscious and adhering to required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
