Title: Process/Manufacturing Engineer
Main functions: The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing innovative, optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes, methods, and solutions in accordance with product specifications and quality standards
Education, Skills, and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering or other related fields.
- Five to seven (5 - 7) years of professional and practical experience.
- Lean Sigma Green Belt Certification from a credited institution preferred
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in flexibles and converting preferred.
- Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees.
- Ability to influence and promote change on all levels of the organization.
- Sound technical skills, logical ability, and strong problem analysis and resolutions skills with a strong operational focus.
- A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and is well versed in systems.
- Knowledge, understanding, and positioning of market trends that impact the food business.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion and business ethics.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures.
- Ability to gather and analyze all types of data, identify the appropriate relationships between the different data, anticipate business directions and make fact-based decisions.
- Prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, as well as strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Sigma Manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span (capital improvements).
- Proficiency in Computer assisted design (CAD).
- Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment
- Proficient in state and federal compliance regulations
- Strong safety engineering knowledge
