Job Description

Process engineer to work primarily on cutting edge nuclear facility and energy projects. Successful candidate will be assigned to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers to execute design and engineering projects.

Scope/Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams / Process Flow Diagrams
• Equipment (compressors, chillers, pumps, etc.) sizing calculations
• Process line sizing calculations
• Relief-device and orifice sizing calculations
• Heat Transfer Analyses
• Equipment and Instrument datasheets
• Vendor coordination for selection of instrumentation and equipment.
• Reviewing and checking the work of other process engineers to determine accuracy and completeness.
• Coordination of design inputs and design activities with other engineering disciplines in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) / Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program.
• Zero (0) to four (4) years related experience and/or training.
• Experience in Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear projects is a plus, but not required.
• Experience Designing to ASME B31 piping codes including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
• Candidate must be capable of and willing to obtain a Q clearance.
• Fundamental of Engineer (FE) / EIT strongly preferred. Candidate is expected to attain PE at earliest opportunity.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Previous Merrick experience preferred.
• Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.

• Typical salary range for this position is from $67,000 - $75,000. The pay range listed in this posting indicates the position’s eligibility to work in the state of Colorado and is consistent with our offices there; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
