Prior Authorization/Denial Management Specialist/Outpatient Coordinator Job at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital

Hospital Prior Authorization and Infusion Coordinator Responsibilities
- Verification of patient insurance benefits.
- Contact insurance companies to verify active coverage.
- Submit authorization requests for any procedure/visit that requires an authorization.
- Follow up on outstanding authorization requests prior to the appointment date.
- Complete prior authorization and infusion scheduling.
- Enter and maintain clinical information in multiple health management systems.
- Properly track and document all denial and appeal activity. Helps identify issues from denials and appeals that might be avoided on future claims.
- Works with third party payors and clinic DON to satisfy quality measures.
- Will collaborate with IT and clinical informaticists and hospital informaticists to assist with communicating changes to all staff across the organization.
Position Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program with Iowa licensure for CMA, LPN, RN
- Previous experience in a clinic/hospital setting with patient interaction preferred
- Current Iowa license and BLS certification
