POSITION SUMMARY:

This position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for supervising the staff, paperwork, and daily operations of a Pinch A Penny retail store. The individual must be a self-starter, able to operate the store as if it were his/her own business. The job requires long hours and complete responsibility for the operation of the store. Must maintain a satisfactory attendance record, as well as quality and quantitative performance standards, and work weekends and some holidays.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or better. Retail sales and sales management experience required. Knowledge of pool equipment, supplies, and related products preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

* Responsible for managing the staff, paperwork, and daily operations of a Pinch-A-Penny retail store which specializes in the sale of pool and spa products, furniture, barbecue and other pool/spa products.

* Responsible for all retail store operations and activities.

* Maintains strong customer relations and performs, or supervises, the performance of the following duties:

a) Opens and closes the store, maintains accurate daily records of all sales and closes out the register at the end of each day.

b) Helps customers, solves problems, and answers questions.

c) Oversees associates, ensuring that all merchandise is clean, priced, and that the shelves are properly stocked and that the appropriate displays and fixtures are set up.

d) Provides a clean, safe and uncluttered workplace for associates and customers.

e) Promotes a pleasant working environment.

* Responsible for staffing, training, and supervising all retail associates in the following areas:

a) Customer service

b) Safety

c) Water testing

d) Cash register operation

e) Product information

f) Corporate policies and procedures

g) Dress code

* Responsible for scheduling, counseling, and evaluating subordinates.

* Responsible for administrative paperwork including the following:

a) Daily bank deposits

b) Cash & Sales reports

c) POS reports

d) Vendor invoices/returns

e) Accounts receivable statements

f) Staff schedules

g) Payroll information

h) Store waste & usage

i) Premium items

j) Special reports, etc.

* Responsible for pool service and repairs, if applicable to location.

* Responsible for maintaining all employed security systems.

Any other duties, as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively and very often during each workday. Bending, stooping, stretching, and walking often, and standing for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
