We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Custom Engineering. This position is responsible for the overall product and material supply planning function to ensure uninterrupted supply to operations, while maintaining efficient and optimized inventory levels. This position works closely with almost all key stakeholders inside the organization to coordinate activities related to supply.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop supply planning and inventory strategies to achieve key business outcomes while proactively identifying improvements.
- Closely monitor supply plans and programs, including backorders and exception reports and develop action/mitigation plans as appropriate.
- Work closely with Go-to-market channels in resolving and managing supply issues while ensuring business targets and potential are achieved.
- Drive SAP Supply Chain functionality
- SAP master maintenance, Bill of Materials, MRP runs and demand/ supply plan
- SME and key contributor to the development and implementation of the ERP based supply planning process
- Drive supply planning reporting to improve efficiency
- Ensures regular updates on ABC classification of skus and material group classifications
- Provide appropriate metrics and reporting data to track performance of inventory management, and supply service
- Drive the company change control process in supply chain.
- Provides supply chain information required for the future S&OP process and meetings, while identifying and anticipating risks to supply
- Support and oversee material discontinuation and deactivation process.
- As a leader, maintain employee development plans, performance reviews and succession plan while suggesting organization improvements as required.
- Support special projects related to product launches, product development and changes, remediation, transportation, and other supply chain initiatives.
- Responsible for optimizing supply chain performance through collaboration with business partners on such variables as demand analytics, scenario planning and constraint management.
- Develop strong customer relations and drive cross functional collaboration with the following stakeholders
- Commercial Team, Marketing and Finance on the SIOP process, demand planning/management and forecasting process
- Customer Service on Order fulfillment requirements
- Project Management for supply matters and inventory obsolescence
- Production Operations to deliver supply for daily operations
- Innovations Team on new products and innovation pipeline
- Product Management on product maintenance
- Quality of supply quality matters
- Logistics on delivery and shipment expectations and requirements.
- Finance on routine physical cycle count activities and deliverables
- Procurement on supplier performance, commitments, contract inputs and risk management
- Other company stakeholders globally as required by the function.
- Leverage reports and analytics to make recommendations to improve efficiency
- Review planning parameters: buying multiples, minimums, replenished forecasts, lead-times, and vendor performance to optimize inventory performance.
What is Required for this Role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in or equivalent 5+ years of relevant experience in supply chain management and has strong management skills.
- 5-7 years of relevant supply chain experience e.g., supply planning, procurement, warehousing, inventory management and supply chain projects – as a team leader
- Experience in various supply chain Best-in-class practices: MRP, S&OP, Supply scenario planning, supply risk assessment and mitigation action planning - is preferred
- Knowledge, experience and/or willing to work in a developing environment to address immediate tactical supply needs while building for future-scale and strategy
- CPM certification is an advantage
- SAP Knowledge is a key advantage
- Self-driven and passionate individual
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work across functional teams
- Operates effectively with all levels of management both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
- Knowledge of supply chain and project management principles
- Must be proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
