Nephrology Associates of Tidewater is an innovative medical practice specializing in the treatment of kidney disease. Our focus is providing comprehensive and quality care to patients with chronic kidney and end-stage renal disease throughout the Hampton Roads region
Nephrology Physician Assistants conducts comprehensive histories and physical exams, formulate diagnoses based upon data collected from various resources and within the scope of practice, initiate and adjust therapeutic regimens including medications, assist with dialysis access management, orders and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures, initiates consults and referrals, creates initial and follow up encounters, provides patient education, and is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Quality lifestyle. This position will involve travel between dialysis clinics and hospitals in the Hampton Roads Virginia ares.

Job Requirements:
- Demonstrate a high degree of medical knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate
- Responsible for dialysis patient care
- Provides patient education to outpatient and dialysis patients
- Experience in hospital rounding
- Assess, diagnose and manage kidney care
- Document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes
- Order and evaluate laboratory
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications based on the patient’s medical condition
- Develop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocols Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Ability to work independently
License/Education
- Dialysis or Internal Medicine background preferred but willing to train a qualifying candidate
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
- Virginia license
- Active DEA
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
