Position Summary: Nurse Practitioner ( NP ) / Physician Assistant ( PA ) Gastroenterology

Leading Gastroenterology Practice Group is searching for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the Lynchburg area of Virginia who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Work M-F 8a-5p or possible 4 day/ 10 hour schedule. Light call. $90k-$105k doe with generous benefits! New grads welcomed! Candidate will provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute and/or chronic health conditions in an outpatient clinic setting under the direction of a physician and/or independently.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) Gastroenterology

• Diagnosing, treating, and helping patients manage acute and chronic illnesses
• Conducting physical examinations and interpreting medical history
• Ordering and performing diagnostic tests and procedures
• Prescribing age-specific physical therapy and rehabilitation
• Prescribing pharmacologic treatments (depends on state regulation)
• Providing screening services
• Specialty care services for adults and children
• Performing minor surgeries and procedures
• Counseling and educating patients about preventive measures to avoid illness

A Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant specializes in the treatment and diagnoses of patients in a wide age range with gastroenterology issues.

Education & Experience: Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) Gastroenterology

• NP or PA program degree
• Current valid state medical license
• Board Certified NP/ PA
• 1+ years’ experience in the applied specialty preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or specialty certification as required by department.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to work with others and demonstrate leadership qualities
