Phlebotomist & Lab Coordinator Job at Minnesota Womens Care PA
- Collect and process in-house lab specimens and specimen for outside lab companies (including Access 2 Immunoassay System)
- Pulls and enters lab orders accurately for clinic; working knowledge and understanding of lab billing process
- Document lab results accurately and effectively communicate lab results in a timely manner
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Quest IOP’s regarding day-to-day operations, including but not limited to ensuring correct collection and billing of in-house versus send out labs and updating on additions of or changes to MNWC lab protocols.
- Collect and process in-house lab specimens and specimen for outside lab companies
- Accurately enter lab orders into EHR as directed by the provider and scan to patient chart.
- Demonstrating a working knowledge and understanding of the lab billing process for in-house (IH) versus send out labs based on patient’s insurance policy and lab test ordered.
- Accurately document lab results in patient lab logbook and EHR immediately after resulting.
- Performing QC on in-house labs (urinalysis and UPT)
- Assist in monitoring the Lab User Jellybean in EHR to ensure all TE’s are completed in timely manner.
- Contacting outside reference laboratories (Quest, Natera, Genova Diagnostics, etc) as needed to obtain or provide information regarding patient samples or add on of testing.
- Maintain clinic and lab supplies and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
