Monterey County has beautiful residential communities supporting excellent school systems. The local area is gorgeous, abounding with rolling hills and near proximity to beautiful beaches along the Pacific Ocean and the spectacular Big Sur coastline. The region is rich in culture and history and supports a wide variety of family activities with many city, state and county parks.
Responsibilities of the Pediatrician:
- 4 day work week - 8am - 5:00pm
- Rotating Saturdays - 8am - 12pm
- Mix of outpatient and inpatient care (shared call)
- Diagnosing and treating illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries.
- Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Collecting, recording, and maintaining patients' information and histories.
- Prescribing and administering treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care.
- Explaining procedures and discussing test results or prescribed treatments with patients and family members.
- Monitoring patients' conditions and progress.
- Directing, coordinating, consulting with, and referring patients to nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
- Advising patients, parents, and guardians on diets, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Conducting research and remaining up to date on current trends, discoveries, and developments in the field.
Minimum Requirements of the Pediatrician:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- AMG or FMG with ECFMG Certificate
- Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred, not required
- Current DEA certificate
- California medical license or eligible to obtain
