Patient Sitter Job at RWJBarnabas Health
Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, an affiliate of RWJBarnabas Health, is a fully accredited acute care hospital dedicated to providing the finest medical and health care services to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties.
Patient sitters provide key assistance with patients who require special precautions.
Responsibilities:
- Remaining with the assigned patient at all times during your assigned shift except when relieved by staff for break and meal times
- Sitter is expected to remain awake, alert, and observant to prevent injury or escape
- Comply with hospital policies on confidentiality, infection control, and compassionate care
- Adheres to patient restrictions and ability to appropriately manage aggressive, violent, and confused behavior
- While sitters provide a key assist to the nursing staff, they are not to perform any form of direct patient care
Requirements:
- Hospital experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Attendance of Patient Safety Class
