Job Summary:
Provides one-to-one observation of patients who have been deemed a safety risk to themselves and/or others.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the provision of a safe and clean environment.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe environment.
- Provides assistance with activities of daily living, when appropriate.
- Possesses the ability to communicate observed changes in behavior / activity to the registered nurse.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- BCLS or Heart Saver certification required.
Preferred:
- Clinical work experience preferred.
Required Training:
- Completion of a certified crisis intervention training program.
- Universal precautions and Infection control.
- Seizure safety/protocols.
- Fall protocols/prevention.
- Restraints.
- Suicide Precautions.
