Job Summary and Qualifications
As a PPS Coordinator, you will manage the inpatient rehabilitation unit data related to prospective payment reimbursement and patient outcomes. You will collect inpatient rehabilitation facility/patient assessment instrument (IRF/PAI) data, verify its accuracy based on patient’s case mix group (CMG), coordinate with health information management (HIM) coding to ensure records are coded on a timely basis, maintain transmission schedules to ensure Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) fiscal intermediary receives data compliant with established deadlines, and input of the IRF/PAI data onto the UDS/PRO system to ensure the facility receives payment for all inpatient rehabilitation cases. Additionally, you will be responsible for the collection and data entry of rehab outcomes, data and transmission to UDS, coordination with national data banks, compilation of outcomes analyses and reports, and assist management team with organization and presentation of outcome data and preparation of program evaluation graphical analyses, charts, and presentations. You will participate in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follow service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
- You will manage IRF/PAI data collection, authenticity, accuracy, verification, and submission to Medicare fiscal intermediary to ensure accurate payment to facility
- You will compile IRF/PAI data from reports generated by clinical professionals
- You will ensure data matches patient case mix group and diagnosis based on experience and established criteria
- You will coordinate with HIM coders the submission of ICD9 codes which are input into the IRF/PAI software
What qualifications you will need:
Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy, or Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy Required.- 2+ years experience in an acute hospital setting Required.
- 2+ years experience in inpatient rehabilitation Preferred.
- BLS Certification required.
