We have four core initiatives: research on the Latino Inclusion in the Digital Economy; scholarships for Latinos to participate in Aspen Institute leadership programs; Aspen Latino Business and Entrepreneurship Initiative; and The Aspen Economic State of Latinos in America. POSITION:

Part-time Research Assistant, temporary hire/graduate intern, up to 30 hours per week.

Principal duties are as follows:

  • General support for research project on the inclusion of Latino workers and businesses in the digital economy;

  • Take notes during phone interviews with employers, workers, and organizations and, eventually, conduct some of them;

  • Conduct desk research on economic, educational and social issues affecting the Latino community;

  • Conduct research that supports Latinos and Society programming and fundraising efforts;

  • Complete projects relating to program outreach and partnerships, including collecting contact information and drafting correspondences;

  • Support the Senior Research Manager in the management of the Latino Digital Inclusion task force;

  • Create and maintain databases;

  • Assist in tasks related to event planning and execution, including organizing day-of event tasks;

  • Perform administrative duties as they arise;

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and/or attributes:

  • Out-of-the-box thinking;

  • Passion about identifying new opportunities and innovative projects to advance Latino economic empowerment;

  • Understanding of the ways in which technology is transforming workplaces and businesses;

  • Proficiency in data visualization programs is desirable;

  • Solid administrative skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and sort large amounts of data using Excel; experience with other database platforms preferred;

  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to cross-check multiple sets of data;

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills;

  • Superb research and problem-solving skills for identifying and locating hard-to-reach information;

  • Ability to work well independently and with others;

  • Self-starter who is motivated to excel with both small and large tasks;

  • Pleasant telephone/Zoom manner;

  • At least two years of relevant job experience;

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
