Part-Time Logistics Specialist - Mailroom Job at South State Bank
General Purpose:
A logistics specialist is responsible for the oversight of the life cycle of products, including preparation, shipping, and receiving. Aids with maintaining logistics planning tasks. Prepares incoming and outgoing mail for proper distribution, including weighing of packages or letters and computing appropriate charges using provided postage equipment. Duties include opening, sorting, and routing all incoming mail to the intended recipient while maintaining necessary records. Maintains operation center supplies. Prepare reports for inventory and distribution. Additional responsibilities are outlined below.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring both external and internal customers receive the highest level of service by performing the following:
- Ensuring supplies are distributed to departments in a timely manner
- Receives and verifies incoming supply deliveries and mail/packages to ensure accuracy
- Maintains appropriate contact with US Postal Service representative on updates and changes made to postal rules & regulations
- Accurately sorts all incoming mail and ensures proper delivery to the intended recipient
- Complies with the South State Bank Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
- Prepare correspondence to be mailed (e.g. applying appropriate postage)
- Track mailroom and operation center supplies to ensure maximum/minimum needs
- Maintain high level of confidentiality in handling mail
- Track supply orders using Excel for reporting needs
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma
Experience/ Knowledge Requirements:
Previous mailroom experience preferred. Must be knowledgeable in regard to reporting skills, administrative writing skills, Microsoft Office skills, managing processes, Organization, analyzing information, professionalism, problem solving, excellent verbal and written communication.
- Experience with mail sorting and postage meter machines is a plus
- Good computer skills including proficient typing
- Microsoft Office Suite: Excel knowledge preferred
- Well-organized, with sharp attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens and document. Must be able to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds.
