Part-Time KE Lead Teacher Job at Bethel Church of Richland, Washington
Responsible to: Preschool Director
Job Status: Part-time, non-exempt
Responsibilities and Duties:
- The Lead teachers will be responsible for teaching the assigned age group.
- Lead Teachers create lesson plans and gather curriculum for their class. Class curriculum, from previous years, is available. The Director will provide specific guidelines and targets.
- Monthly lesson plans are required by the first week of the month (with the exception of the first month of school).
- The lead teacher is responsible for the tone and structure of their classroom.
- Any problems that arise (discipline, behavior, communication with parents, etc.) are handled by the lead teacher.
- The lead teacher is responsible for communicating with parents about upcoming class events and snack schedules. The Director supplies a Monthly Update and school-wide news.
- The Lead teacher reports directly to the director any conflicts or problems.
- The Lead teacher will give “progress reports/assessments” to parents at the end of the session. (Pre-K classes give at least two progress reports to parents in a school year.)
- The lead teacher is required to attend training sessions and accumulate training hours set by the director.
- The Lead teacher should have on file with Bethel Church (or in the process of completing): Completed and cleared National Background check form.
- The teacher must be engaged in a local church and growing in their walk with the Lord. The Lead Teacher’s beliefs must align with the core beliefs of Bethel Church. A reference from the Lead Teacher’s local church pastor or church leader will be required.
- The Lead teacher is responsible for decorating and maintaining their classrooms, creating a warm and inviting room that promotes a fun learning environment.
