We are looking for a qualified Operating Room Environmental Services Aide to join our dedicated team. The OR Aide provides a superior level of cleaning quality in operating rooms and other OR areas. This is a full-time position, five days a week, evening / night shift (hours will vary).

License or Certification: None.

Education, Vocational Training, and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Prior experience as an OR Environmental Services Aide is preferred.

Interpersonal Relations: Interaction with patients, family members, physicians, teammates, etc., must be in a manner that is friendly, positive, supportive, respectful, courteous, cooperative, and professional. This behavior must promote an atmosphere of teamwork which is consistent with hospital standards and guidelines to ensure a caring healthcare experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Perform daily cleaning procedures in assigned areas
• Record work on Area Assignment Checklist
• Respond to Housekeeping overhead pages
• OR Aide works under tight deadlines
• Must have good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to communicate effectively with hospital personnel
• OR Aide works with minimal supervision
• Ability to work under stress
• Must have good reasoning ability and independent judgment
• Must be flexible in performing duties
• Ability to prioritize

Physical Tasks:

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Capable of pushing/pulling a maid cart/linen cart on tile and carpeted floors
• Ability to move furniture occasionally
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping and standing frequently

Machines and Equipment Used: Dust mop, damp mop, bucket and wringer, cart, vacuum, high duster, scrubbing pads, putty knife, time clock, computer.
