Position Summary:
We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.
Responsibilities:
This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to:
- Obtains patient history and chief complaint, checks vision, instills eye drops and charts procedures for medical records/EMR
- Performs diagnostic testing including OCTs, visual fields, FAs, and fundus photography (Retinal imaging)
- Fields patients’ questions during visits and via phone, providing advice and resolving problems in consultation with the doctors
- Uses, cleans, and maintains equipment and supplies appropriately
- Schedules surgeries with patients
- In accordance with doctor's orders preps and assists with any needed in-office procedures
- Submits patients’ prescriptions and prescription refills, with physician’s approval
- Scribes and assists doctors professionally and promptly with office procedures and patient care
- Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
- Must be flexible with traveling to various locations and working some weekends.
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
- The ability to recognize inconsistencies
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED at the minimum. College degree in the field of science preferred but not required.
