Busy Ophthalmology practice with locations in West Caldwell and Montclair seeks Full Time Ophthalmic Technician. We are looking for a motivated individual, who is outgoing with excellent communication skills. We aim to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our patients. Ideal candidate must be organized, reliable and detail oriented.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure high quality patient care
- Basic understanding of ocular terminology and diseases; or general medical terminology
- Perform pre-exam testing to include visual assessment, including checking IOP with use of iCare
- Perform specialized testing such as visual fields, IOL Master, OCT, etc.
- Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre and post-operative instructions as directed by physician
- Check expiration date and inventory of medicines and replace as necessary, notify Office Manager for restock order
- Maintain inventory of all exam room supplies, notify Office Manager for restock order
- Open and close exam rooms daily, ensuring that equipment is cleaned and sanitized, all equipment is switched off and covered.
