Overview:
Utilizing independent judgment, the Operations Manager supervises and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the facilities, including set-up/changeovers, repairs and maintenance, and ice operations. This position provides overall administrative planning, direction, training and policies to Operations Supervisors and Staff, assuring the highest quality service to assure client satisfaction.
Salary: $65,500- $75,500

Angel Of The Winds Arena is a three venue, state-of-the-art multi-purpose complex located in the heart of downtown Everett, WA. This seamless complex offers a NHL regulation ice rink open year-round, diverse arena space that can be used for WHL hockey, basketball, indoor football, trade shows, concerts and more; as well as a full conference center that can host conventions, meetings, weddings, banquets, and more.

- Supervise and participate in day to day operations of the Arena, Community Ice Rink, and Conference Center including ice maintenance.
- Coordinate and communicate all relevant information for event setups, changeovers, and custodial tasks throughout the Events Center (Arena, Community Ice Rink and Conference Center).
- Monitor and maintain ice to WHL standards for games, practices, and special events.
- Oversee installation of the main hockey ice at Angel Of The Winds Arena as well as the Community Ice Rink. This includes floor prep, freezing, floor painting, base color lines and logos, building ice depth, and ice removal.
- Ensure ice is properly prepared for all practices, games and other ice events. Duties include removing debris, checking ice depth, edging and resurfacing the ice.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of hockey glass and dasher walls, benches, netting, goals, kickplates, doors, ramps, etc.
- Monitor temperature and humidity levels alongside the Engineering Department to ensure proper game and practice conditions are met.
- Complete daily facility reports.
- Work with stakeholders to schedule and plan for various on ice events including home and away team practices, Community Ice Rink events, team special events, gameday promotions, etc.
- Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of the facility.
- Hire, train, and supervise part time and/or contract staff.
- Coordinate labor hours for staff and contract workers. Monitor and report labor allocations to Director.
- Assign work activities, monitor workflow, identify and resolve common operational issues related to changeover.
- Ensure employees have the equipment and resources to perform the job efficiently.
- Coordinate preventative and regular maintenance for all ice related equipment and company equipment.
- Maintain employee paperwork including scheduling, attendance, payroll, disciplinary procedures, etc.
- Assist the Engineering department with projects as required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s/Technical degree from an accredited college/university/school preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in multiuse facility operations.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in supervision of others/work crews required.
- Working knowledge of facility and arena operations, changeovers and setups.
- Working knowledge of operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging, basketball floors, hockey glass, etc.
- Working knowledge of all facets of ice arena equipment: Zamboni, ice edger, dasher boards, nets, glass, doors, hardware, and rubber
- Ability to oversee and direct staff in performance of changeover functions and ice maintenance.
- Ability to follow written instruction, interpret AutoCAD drawings and execute plans.
- Capable of working nights, weekends and holidays, as well extended hours when needed.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to meet deadlines and function under stress.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
