Operations Cost Controller Job at Kemin
The Operations Cost Controller will be a driving force to make our global savings happen with a clear target to reduce the overall cost of goods. At the same time, he/she will act as an objective internal controller for all initiatives taken. This position is a key function in finance department to help provide clarity to Operations and Supply Chain (O&SC). The individual will work cross functionally and with global leaders to help standardize processes and reporting.

Responsibilities:
Active member of the O&SC finance steering committee that will design the finance set-up required to allow us to benefit from global savings while treating all involved business units in a fair way.
- All accounting tasks will be performed by the Kemin Industries and local finance teams, but the Operations Cost Controller will act as the (translating) link between business interests and accounting rules (including taxes, transfer pricing rules etc…).
- Develop new costing principles in close cooperation with Kemin Industries finance. Maintain and further finetune this costing model on a global level.
Financial analysis for strategic business decisions.
- Provide a sound financial analysis to support decision making for a variety of complex operational questions.
- Develop a decision model from scratch to support transparent decision making related to our global footprint (what to produce and where). Collect and use all relevant supply chain information to be used in a scenario analysis, comparing a limited number of viable options.
- Defend an independent, unbiased and financially supported view.
Drive the cost saving mindset throughout O&SC (and beyond).
- Guarantee that all type of savings are calculated in a correct way.
- Engage with teams to do more, based on analysis, benchmarking, etc…
Provide financial advice to the O&SC teams.
- Many improvement initiatives will require a financial foundation. The Operations Cost Controller will provide the required insights and support on these matters.
- A degree in finance, preferably an MBA, with a strong financial background; specifically, management accounting.
- 10 years of experience in an accounting management role, with expertise in a manufacturing environment.
- Very strong analytical skills, understanding the strategic big picture, while not neglecting the details.
A post-offer background check and drug screen is required. Additional pre-employment requirements may be necessary based on position.
