Office Services Assistant Job at Virginia Beaumont Correctional Center

Virginia Beaumont Correctional Center Goochland, VA

Hourly arrangement that provides clerical and administrative support to the Beaumont Correctional Center. Maintains filing systems, copies and distributes materials, and purges inactive files. Performs keyboarding duties, entering data into forms, documents, and agency data systems. Produces administrative reports and correspondences.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Recent experience providing customer service and administrative support in a professional office setting. Working knowledge of federal and state human resources practices, policies and procedures relating to FLSA, FMLA, and ADA rules and regulations and record keeping processes. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Recent experience using office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copier and fax machine).

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer coursework or training in human resources or a related field. Prefer working knowledge of timekeeping practices and personnel policies and procedures as they relate to leave and timekeeping in accordance with applicable federal and state laws

Special Requirements

This is a wage position limited to a maximum of 1500 hours per year and provides no benefits.
