Office Manager Job at Kershaw County, SC
Under general supervision, assists in creating and maintaining records, and processing of invoices for the Kershaw County Detention Center and the Inmate Canteen. Maintains and orders all supplies and equipment related to the Detention Center and the Inmate Canteen. Performs a variety of duties in support of effective and efficient operations, including Inmate Canteen administration and budget preparation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operates a personal computer and appropriate accounting and jail management software to maintain department records.
Perform clerical and accounting duties peculiar to these departments.
Checks, verifies and processes claims for payments for the Detention Center and Inmate Canteen.
Maintains contracts, records, prepares forms and correspondence pertaining to the Detention Center and Inmate Canteen.
Purchases and maintains inventory of all supplies for the Detention Center and Inmate Canteen.
Responsible for ensuring office financial objectives are met by assisting in the preparation of the annual budget for the Detention Center and the Inmate Canteen.
Answers telephone and provides information or directs calls to proper authority.
Organizes and schedules meetings, appointments and travel.
Perform all other related duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION
Associates Degree or higher preferred. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, book keeping or closely related field or 2+ years’ experience of clerical accounting or related field. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and book keeping principles and procedures. Knowledge of office management responsibilities, systems and procedures.
SKILLS/ QUALIFICATION:
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel a must. Organizational Skills, Reporting Skills, Strong Communication Skills, Attention to Detail, PC Proficiency, Typing, Productivity, Teamwork, Problem Solving Skills.
