ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contributes information in day to day assistance of residents’ needs.
- Provides routine care to the resident, i.e. bathing, grooming, dressing, as needed.
- Responds timely to residents’ requests.
- Provides emotional support to residents and families.
- Develops and maintains a positive rapport and working relationship with residents and families.
- Directs residents’ activities in a manner that motivates and encourages participation based on resident needs, interests, and abilities.
- Serves and delivers meals to residents timely.
- Assists in setting up dining area on a daily basis and for special functions. Provides beverages, condiments, napkins, and sets place settings in proper manner.
- Assist in cleaning dining area after meals as needed.
- Provides snacks and drinks twice a day for residents.
- Provides general up keep of community by way of housekeeping duties.
- Handles clean and soiled personal laundry properly (wash, dry, fold, iron, and deliver.)
- Assist with washing, drying, and ironing table linens as needed.
- Understands and complies with proper use of chemicals, tools, and equipment associated with job related tasks.
- Gives and takes report for each shift.
- Participates in community surveys and any subsequently required reports.
- Attends and participates in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in the field as well as to maintain current license/certification as required.
- Attends and participates in mandatory in-services.
- Honors residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.
- Reports job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and bodily fluids and others as necessary.
- Follows established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
- Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
