We are looking for a Nurse Extern to join our Coronary Care CVICU team in Albuquerque, NM.

This job is located at Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center which is New Mexico's only hospital dedicated exclusively to cardiovascular care, including the state's only facility to do left ventricular aortic device (LVAD) implant, and a cutting-edge hybrid operations room where surgeons can perform advanced surgical services for cardiovascular patients.
Responsibilities:
Nurse Extern Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing technical procedures as authorized under the direct supervision of an RN.
  • In addition, performs basic nursing assistant responsibilities.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Qualifications:
Nurse Extern Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum: High School diploma or GED equivalent; Must be enrolled an Accredited Nursing program with an anticipating completing the program within 12 months from date of hire.
  • Desired: Completion of approve nursing assistant course
  • One (1) year of previous job related experience
  • Ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively communicate;
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Medical Technology; Anatomy and Physiology
  • CPR
