Northeast Ohio Catholic Magazine Advertising Representative

Primary Function: Under the direction of the executive director of communications, plan and implement print and electronic advertising sales strategy for the Northeast Ohio Catholic Magazine and other communications platforms; establish, develop and cultivate relationships with potential advertisers in existing and new markets to build awareness of advertising opportunities and secure financial support; collaborate with the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) to ensure an integration of activities aimed at building comprehensive support from the corporate community.

Responsibilities:

  • Commitment to the mission, values, and evangelization charge of the Diocese of Cleveland and the Catholic Church
  • Identify potential stakeholders and clients and visit/present to existing and new advertisers
  • Meet with key clients to create and increase awareness, present opportunities, negotiate and secure advertising sales for print publication, directory and related website; respond to client needs and follow through on appropriate requests or service needs; develop and nurture strong client contacts and positive, proactive relationships
  • Develop and implement strategic advertising sales action plans and forecasts to achieve targets and objectives
  • Under the direction of the executive director, develop and manage the sales operating budget
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotional activities and materials
  • Develop and recommend advertising positioning and pricing aligned with customer needs and sales strategy
  • Ensure control of advertising results, take actions to guarantee achievement of sales objectives
  • Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust advertising sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
  • Monitor sales activities and competitor activities. Communicate trends and issues pertaining to sales initiatives
  • Collaborate with the CCF to integrate and maximize corporate philanthropic and advertising support when appropriate
  • Prepare activity reports and discuss results and solutions with executive director
  • Establish and maintain a consistent diocesan image and message in relationship building and sales activity
  • Work in collaboration with the editor and executive director on other special projects/sections for the magazine/website.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in communications, marketing, business or related field
  • Two years of experience in sales
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other pertinent software
  • Strong presentation skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
