POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides technical and administrative support for operating systems and a variety of application software. This position must maintain adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software in use to maximize efficiency of the network and end users' utilization of software productivity tools. In addition, this position is required to create and update written documentation on our network environment on periodic intervals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by associates.
- Provide computer/network support relating to software and hardware issues reported by users.
- Proficiency with Spyware/Malware/Anti-virus removal, MS Office, and web browsers.
- Appropriately responds to issues in a timely manner and with resolution or course of action.
- Install new software applications or hardware on user endpoints, servers and coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.
- Configuring new users in Active Directory, MS Exchange, and various Business Systems.
- Administer daily, weekly and monthly backup jobs.
- Monitor software usage for licensing and compliance.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high levels of support to associates.
- Assist in installation of workstations and printers on the network.
- Assist in gathering bid prices on equipment and supplies as needed.
- Provide written document on a monthly basis which defines upcoming needs of network which would require purchase of additional hardware or software.
- Ensure that all patches are applied to all servers.
- Monitor load balance on servers and make recommendations accordingly.
- Perform internal audit functions for the IT department.
- Arrive for each work day on time and prepared.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in and contribute to Mariani initiatives.
- Leads in the orientation/training of new Team Members.
- Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments.
- Develop new ideas that will help the department run more efficiently.
- Participate in other department and business functions as needed (i.e. the snow removal process in emergencies, internal quality audits, holiday retail, administrative support, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-7 years experience in a Client/Server environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field of study.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of IT principles and functions.
- Demonstrate significant proficiency in performing systems administration.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Exchange 2010 and 2013, Windows Server 2012R2, Layer 3 Routers required. Ideal candidate would also have
- Experience with Backup Exec, SonicWall, and vCenter/vSphere is a plus.
- Ability to lead others and act as a mentor for supporting team members.
- Ability to delegate appropriately to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with external clients and Mariani associates on a consistent basis.
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment, including taking direction and constructive feedback from managers, as well as providing feedback to other team members and managers.
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary.
- Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrates a commitment to self development and continuing education.
- Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work requires intermittent physical activity including standing, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting and working extensively at a computer terminal. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to internal and external client needs and deadlines.
