Upward Bound is a free program that helps high school students prepare for their future after high school through meeting with an Outreach Advisor and attending a Summer Institute. Our goal is to give every participant an opportunity to further their education after high school and earn a 2 or 4 year college degree. Opportunities Advising for high school and dual enrollment classes Get connected to tutors and gain skills to become a better student Develop familiarity of the college and financial aid process Prepare for college entrance exams like the ACT or SAT Tour college campuses in Montana and surrounding states
MTCC AmeriCorps College Coach - MSU Billings Upward Bound
Member Duties : AmeriCorps College Coaches will provide mentorship and coaching to low income or first generation high school students. You will establish effective methods of student recruitment, outreach and participating in the Upward Bound & Talent Search Programs. Develop professional skills in public speaking, community outreach and educational collaboration with regional K-12 establishments. Build teamwork skills and collaborate with campus peers and professional staff. Actively participate in the research, preparation and delivery program activities and events with the intended purpose of engaging and increasing student participation/enrollment in the Talent Search and Upward Bound programs. Develop, promote and collaborate with Team members to deliver afternoon, afterschool activities for Upward Bound and Talent Search Students.
