Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor; clamps parts together along layout marks
- Welds parts or subassemblies according to welding diagram or blueprint
- Welds part or subassembly along weld joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld
- Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
- Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes and builds up metal parts
- Applies flux to workpiece instead of filler rod
- Welds along vertical horizontal or overhead weld lines
- Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler rod
- Cleans or degreases parts
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
- Two years of training at a Community College or Technical school
- Minimum of three years on-the-job welding (welding heavy metal/steel)
- Minimum of three years Flux Core welding experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 per hour
