Delta Construction and Electric Company has been an established General Construction Company since 1971. Delta has continued to grow and expand in a wide range of fields over the past 50 years, covering everything from industrial industries, retail facilities, high rise offices, multi-use condominiums, and commercial manufacturing projects. Our primary focus is design build commercial tenant improvement construction.
We are a modern, hardworking team looking to hire an all hands on deck to help the growing needs of our company. Our ideal MEP Draftsperson will work with our team for the development of project specific details and the preparation and coordination of clear, concise drawings. This position is responsible for taking conceptual designs by others and producing technical drawings on various types of building projects; Using computer aided design to complete buildable and permittable drawings; Interacting with design team, consultants and architects; Preparing final drawings under the direction of architects from rough sketches, mark-ups, or verbal communication; Completing technical details using drawings, rough sketches, code requirements, manufacturer data, etc.; Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; Implementation and follow-up of the client’s requests; Assisting the project manager with overall project responsibilities; and Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as required. Ultimately, you’ll help us build functional, secure and well-designed retail spaces that meet our clients’ needs.
In addition to MEP work, we are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn all aspects of commercial design and development including due diligence, preliminary research, feasibility, plan development, plan submittals, local agency clearances and agency approvals. As a member of the Delta team you’ll learn how to develop a project from the initial concept through project final.
Job Skills, Knowledge, Training and Experience:
- Knowledge of common construction techniques to draw plans and details of a building and understanding commonly used terminology, concepts and procedures of the construction industry
- Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT systems required
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite preferred
- Develop and design plans, calculations & reports as related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
- Requires high-quality accuracy with attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Exercise judgment when preparing and modifying drawings and understand resources available to resolve issues and/or when to reach out to the design team for help
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments to meet project deadlines
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project team including designers, builders and consultants
- Knowledge of building, life safety codes, and other regulations
Knowledge and Skills:
● CAD
● Revit
● Ability to create strong renderings and the highest quality visualizations
● An understanding of various space planning methodologies
● Computer Skills
● 3D Modeling & rendering proficiency
● Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a plus
● Willingness to learn
Qualifications:
● Architectural degree
● 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area, preferred
● Must be able to work 40 hours a week
● Must have reliable transportation and live near/around LA
Salary/benefits:
● $50-$75k based on experience
● After 3 months an evaluation of performance with first year annual earning potential of up to $85k
● Health, dental and vision benefits. First of the month following 3 months of employment.
