The Festival of Arts, a non-profit organization, is a local leader that has supported the growth and development of the community and the arts in Laguna Beach. Every summer for nearly 90 years, the Festival of Arts has produced two world-renowned events: The Festival of Arts Fine Art Show and the Pageant of the Masters. Together both shows attract more than 250,000 visitors.

The membership and special events department plans and produces such summer events as the Concert on the Green, Tribute Band, and the Jazz, Wine & Chocolate series; as well as Family Art Day and the Festival’s Runway Fashion Show. The department also takes good care of the Festival’s members, plans member’s only events, answers questions, and ensures members receive all the benefits appropriate to their donation level.
This position supports the department’s director by aiding in the creative planning and coordination of social events (special events as well as membership events) in a style appropriate to an artistic environment. The assistant acts as host/hostess at events and interacts with members or patrons as appropriate.
Clerical support, organizing and maintaining files and contact lists and maintaining the department’s working calendar of events are also essential duties of this position. This position provides members with excellent customer service by answering questions and communicating important information and updating the membership database. This position is responsible for maintaining records and logs for the music and entertainment and coordinating events with vendors.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a polished personal presentation style, including proper phone etiquette, and is comfortable interacting with all members of the organization. Excellent computer knowledge, proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and business-level communication and writing skills are required. Must be detail oriented, able to handle multiple priorities and follow through with minimal supervision. Prior experience in membership service, event planning, and non-profit arts are highly preferred. Must be available to work evenings and weekends in July and August. Off-season is mostly Mon – Fri, daytime business hours.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
