Melter/Filler Job at Dairy Farmers of America, Inc.
Duties and responsibilities
- Keep accurate records of the Pre-Op prior to startup of AMF.
- Run the filling controls on boxes, pails, and totes.
- Keep accurate records of all AMF produced on the production report and document all packaging lot tracking.
- Properly label and code date all AMF produced and move to the storage cooler.
- Melt butter for anhydrous production and record storage information.
- Help package anhydrous in the appropriate container.
- Take cardboard to baler as needed to keep area clean.
- Aid Separators Operators as needed and as requested.
- During clean-up: see that all filling equipment, lines and tanks are all cleaned and sanitized.
- Also, during clean-up: See that all floors, walls, tanks, etc. equipment are adequately cleaned.
- Assist other employees in obtaining the packaging supplies as needed to keep production going.
- Maintain area in a clean manner: this includes walls, tables, ceiling, equipment pipes, drains, etc.
- Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
- Attends required training, including but not limited to: GMP's, HAACP, SQF, Safety, etc.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, speak & understand both oral and written instructions
- Skilled in problem solving & willingness to work in a team environment
- Ability to pass a background check & physical/drug screen
- HS Diploma/GED preferred
Physical Demands
- Standing, twisting, pushing, pulling throughout shift
- Lifting, carrying, and/or lowering 60-90 pounds
- Repetition of hand/wrist, doing simple grasping
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
