Responsibilities
The Medicare Patient Billing and Collection Manager manages approximately 16 supervisory and staff level biller positions. Works closely with audit, revenue cycle and professional analysts, and Business Systems analysts to resolve system issues or initiate process improvement initiatives related to charging, registration, and billing and collection responsibilities for the health system (hospital, emergency room, ambulatory surgery, HBC clinics and ancillary departments). Also has direct responsibility for the relative cash collection goals for Medicare Fee for Service.
Required Qualifications

Experience with and understanding of how to research and utilize Medicare Inpatient & Outpatient Billing Regulations to ensure claim accuracy and maximum remittance

Experience overseeing Medicare Accounts Receivable within the last 5 years

Experience in Medicare Billing and Collections within the last 5 years

Experience Supervising other Medicare Billing & Collection employees within the last 5 years

Experience with and understanding of Medicare crossover billing

Strong managerial skills in planning and delegating work, deploying staff, building staff competencies and Resource management, budgeting and financial management

Strong leadership skills to achieve organizational results in a manner that establishes a positive rapport and professional working relationships with all levels of the organization and external parties

Thorough knowledge of all relevant information technology, including systems, applications, hardware processes and methodologies used in billing and collections functions

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to convert clear and concise complex information to subordinates, senior management and external parties

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a combination of experience, education and/or training
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic
