JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Records person maintains a good working relationship and communication with the Care Coordinator and all persons in Administration. This position assists the Care Coordinator in all aspects of the nursing department in accordance with policies and procedures of Calson Management and in compliance with all Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations. This position works in strict confidentiality as an Assistant in regards to the upkeep of Resident’s charts, keeping schedules current, scheduling Resident Doctor Appointments, upkeep of the calendars, ordering medications, attending and participating in In-Service classes, training of staff.

THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Care Coordinator and or Executive Director

OBJECTIVE:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in keeping resident’s charts current and accurate while maintaining Confidentiality of said records at all times.

2. Assist in keeping shower and laundry schedules current.

3. Assist in the scheduling of resident doctor appointments, keeps appointment calendar updated.

4. Assist in the ordering of resident medications and the monthly incoming medication delivery, as directed by Care Coordinator.

5. Attend and participate in all In-Service classes as directed by the Care Coordinator.

6. Assist in the training of all new staff.

7. Responsible for monthly MAR’s

8. Other duties as specified by the Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

· It will be mandatory within the first seven (7) days of employment for each employee to have a health certification signed by a physician. This certification must verify that this person has no communicable diseases, open lesions, or any other health problem, which could interfere with the individual’s job performance.

· The person in this position will be required to maintain the proper documentation to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as set forth by CALSON MANAGEMENT as well as State, Local and Federal rules and laws regulating the operation and licensure of the facility and its staff.

· The Medical Records person must be able to read, write, understand and communicate in English and possess clear verbal and written communication skills.

· This person must be criminally cleared by DOJ and FBI via the Live-Scan process prior to employment.

· This person understands that CALSON MANAGEMENT operates as a Drug Free Workplace per Policies set forth in the Company Handbook.

· The Medical Records person must be at least a High School graduate.

· This person should have worked in the Industry minimum 2 years and/or possess Medical Records Certification

· Valid CA Driver’s License, DMV Printout

· Computer experience in MS Office or comparable programs, ability to create calendar of events, invitations, charts, graphs, reports as required by the position.
