Responsibilities and Duties

Job Role & Responsibilities: Medical Record Technician

· Travel to various medical facilities and hospitals assigned by the company's MRT logistics team to scan patient records. This position is seasonal and part to full time, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. Technicians will use a company laptop and portable scanner to retrieve sections of medical records which will be uploaded into a database.

· This is a great "foot-in-the-door" position for those looking to be involved in the emerging Healthcare & Technology industry.

· Maintains medical records operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Initiates medical record by searching master patient index; identifying existing patient records or need to assign a new number; interacting with registration areas and physicians' offices for information verification; processing or creating the record folder.

· Ensures medical record availability by routing records to admissions and emergency departments, physicians, and other authorized hospital staff; maintaining chart location systems.

· Completes medical record by reviewing information; notifying health care providers of record deficiencies; tracking outstanding records; notifying medical director of physicians in jeopardy of losing admitting privileges.

· Resolves medical record discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

· Maintains historical reference by abstracting and coding clinical data, such as diseases, operations, procedures, and therapies, using standard classification systems; filing documents.

· Prepares statistical reports by collecting and summarizing medical care and census information, such as types of diseases treated, surgery performed, and use of hospital beds.

· Provides medical record information by answering questions and requests of patients, hospital staff, law firms, insurance companies, and government agencies.

· Maintains patient confidence and protects hospital operations by keeping information confidential; following release-of-information protocols.

· Maintains the stability and reputation of the hospital by complying with legal requirements.

· Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures. Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Maintain and adhere to the timeline of submitting reports daily to the respective supervisor

Qualifications/Eligibility :

  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have a personal vehicle
  • Must have internet access at home
  • Must be willing to drive
  • Must have excellent PC skills and familiarity with office equipment usage such as scanners and flash drives. Knowledge of file copying, sharing and transfer is required. You will be working with various EMR systems and will need to be comfortable navigating software that is unfamiliar to you.
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of medical chart structure, content and medical terminology.
  • Registration of Car: (Candidates needs to provide a Car Registration document)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Compliance with maintaining confidentiality of patient health information

· Strong professional presentation skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

· Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines

· Ability to identify elements of a medical record's structure and content

· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

· Good Communication skills (Knowledge of both English and Spanish language will be an added advantage)

· Strong Communication And Time Management Skills

· Basic MS Office Knowledge

· Flexibility to work as per the business requirement

· Adaptable to change; able to respond to shifting requirements and priorities

· Self-motivated and pro-active, with ability to work autonomously, but also as part of a small team

We are looking for MRT's in following location -

Morovis, Florida, Barceloneta, Vega, Baja, Ciales, Arecibo, Florida, Barceloneta, Orocovis, Hatillo, Manati.

Pay Rate:

· You will be paid on Hourly or Record base, whichever is higher at the end of your pay cycle also you reimbursement for Traveling

· $11 hourly OR $1.75 per chart depending on performance.

· We also provide tolls, parking and mileage-based reimbursements
