Mechanical Engineer Job at CP Industries
CP Industries, located in McKeesport, PA is looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Engineer as an integral member of the company's Engineering team. This position acts as the technical contact and support for Sales, Quality, Purchasing, Production, and our customers. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the project management of orders, internal CAPX and systems.
Essential Functions

- Review customer source control drawings, specification control drawings and other applicable specifications to determine requirements and/or feasibility of the component.
- Perform all necessary calculations such as stress analysis, performance analysis, and pressure drop and flow analysis, etc. as required.
- Prepare preliminary design proposal(s). Set up structures and system in Syteline to simplify quoting process for the Sales department.
- Interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues and implement cost reduction ideas with regard to company products.
- Perform liaison function between engineering and all manufacturing operations for any related issues, problems or improvements.
- Work with the quality department to define problem areas and implement product improvements based on customer repair/rejection concerns.
- Participate in engineering and general design review as required.
- Refine and complete designs after design review meetings.
- Prepare proposal documentation.
- Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc.
- Interact with customers on engineering design and any questions/problems they may have.
- Interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to company.
- Coordinate as required with internal groups including purchasing, quality control, sales, production, accounting personnel, metal finishing and assembly.
- Perform duties as the acting engineering manager if requested and during the absence of the engineering manager.
- Advise supervisor of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
- Manage Projects for new designs, Customer orders, internal CAPX and systems.
- Design trailers, ISO Modules and other complex assemblies.

Education and/or Experience –
- Bachelor of science in engineering degree or equivalent from four-year college.
- Four or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management experience required.
- CAD experience required.
Individual must be qualified by Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program regulations to fill this vacancy.
