Industry Knowledge

· 4 years of engineering related experience in material handling industry

· Bachelor degree in engineering or 4 years equivalent industry experience

· Application experience with systems, racking systems, shelving systems, conveyor and structures.

· Application experience with material handling automation is a plus.

General Skillset

· Proactive thinker, well-versed in identifying and solving problems before they become issues.

· Experience with leading small team

· 5 years minimum experience with AutoCAD

· 3D AutoCAD drawing experience a plus

· Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Product Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

· At least 2 years of experience with project scheduling tool(s).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Requirements/Key Results Areas:

Proposal Engineering

· Provide engineering support for sales team in customer meetings as needed to convey equipment solutions and applications to solve customer problems.

· Support sales team with concept conveyor and/or automation solution layouts as needed for proposals.

· Review scope of work with sales person(S) to further define scope and identify missing information or avoid potential issues.

· Identify opportunities to “get ahead” of drawing work for proposals highly likely to become projects.

Project Engineering

· Develop X-ref drawings once proposals become project.

· Lead engineering department to prepare required drawing sets for projects.

· Proofread drawing sets completed by draftsperson and conveyor / automation supplier.

· Work alongside project management group to identify priorities for drawing work.

· Work with licensed PE’s to solve engineering related issues during installations of projects.

· Ensure engineering time is properly logged towards projects

Technical Resource

· Provide or facilitate annual training for all existing supplier product updates

· Provide or facilitate annual training for all new supplier products

· Provide training to projects teams in the following areas:

o Reading drawings and counting material

o Supplier product updates

o New supplier products relevant to awarded projects.

· Direct and facilitate engineering team to update library of supplier AutoCAD blocks.

· Direct and facilitate engineering team to create X-ref blocks that improve making drawing transitions from proposals to projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,956.85 - $110,000.00 per year
