Southern California Fleet Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Truck Mechanic (Emergency Vehicle Technician) at our Escondido, CA location. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled to highly skilled tasks involving minor and major mechanical service and repair of Heavy Equipment, Fire Trucks, Fire apparatuses, Aerial equipment, Fire Rescue Vehicles, and Miscellaneous Fire Equipment.

Fire: F1 – Maintenance, Inspection, and Testing of Fire Apparatus F2 – Design and Performance Standards of Fire Apparatus F3 – Fire Pumps and Accessories F4 – Fire Apparatus Electrical Systems/ Multiplex training F5 – Aerial Fire Apparatus F6 – Allison Automotive Transmissions

Typical duties include:

Performs routine/scheduled maintenance and repairs of equipment and vehicles to include, but not limited to, wheeled vehicles, power generation, and material handling equipment.

• Performs maintenance and repairs on Emergency Response Vehicles Equipment
• Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring, and hydraulic schematics utilized during scheduled service intervals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair of vehicles and equipment Qualifications & Requirements
• Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification required
• 2 years of Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience preferred
• T-Series ASE certifications required
• Ability to use computers and computer software
• A valid CDL Class B is preferable.
• A Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required. Candidates must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances/installation access as background checks will be conducted for this position.
