Responsibilities Include:
1. Provide quick, effective repairs when possible.
2. Performs general maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on all manufacturing and facility equipment as needed, focusing primarily on electronics and controls.
3. Assist with installation and start-up of manufacturing equipment.
4. Works closely with production personnel to resolve machine issues and improve productivity and quality.
5. Takes on projects to build or modify equipment.
6. Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
7. Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns.
8. Ensure all guards are in place and equipment is safe to operate.
9. Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical, electronic and mechanical components.
11. Reads and understands electronic and electrical schematics; draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
12. Recommends changes in circuitry of installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
13. Understands and is able to trouble-shoot and repair manufacturing equipment and computer based controllers.
14. Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models.
15. Analyzes and interprets data from controllers’ scope meters and other troubleshooting equipment.
16. Adjust, calibrates and aligns circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance
17. Perform all duties, including work area cleanliness, so that Essentra reaches its goal of zero accidents in the work place.
18. Works closely with production personnel to solve machines issues and to improve productivity and quality.
19. Perform all tasks and duties in a way that minimizes time, resources and materials so that Essentra reach its profitability goals.
20. Follow in an exemplary manner, company policies and procedures.
21. Work in collaboration with team leaders, coordinators and managers, to assure that the plant achieves its objective for quality, delivery, safety, innovation, profitability and total customer satisfaction.
III. Position Requirements:
Education/Experience:
Associate Degree as Industrial Mechanic from accredited university, Minimum years (3) years of previous experience in a fast pace environment such as Printing, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device industry.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Must have a working knowledge of PLC’s, able to read and understand both electric and pneumatic schematics, familiar with high voltage power and low voltage control circuits, must have good working knowledge of hand tools and tooling used on the Manufacturing equipment, self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision, mechanical knowledge and experience including troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance.
Able to work without constant supervision. Able to work under pressure and adapt to frequent changes. Basic computer skills. Effectiveness in this role requires the employee to have an aptitude toward technical skills; safety regulations; record keeping techniques. Able to get along with diverse personalities, tactful and mature. Able to recognize and support the organization’s priorities.
Must be able to work second shift, overtime and on week-ends as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines.
Language: Bi-lingual
Computer skills: Maximo, SAP, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point. (Plus).
IV. Physical Demands:
Individuals will need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion.
V. Work Environment:
The performance of this position require exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection may be required. Requires the removal of personal items such as jewelry, rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, and earrings. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
