Material and Production Planner Job at Sonnen Inc
Job Description: sonnen is seeking a Materials and Production Planner to facilitate the manufacturing of clean energy storage systems. This position will report to the Supply Chain Supervisor and will be responsible for maintaining inventory needs as dictated by manufacturing orders and part requisitions. The ideal candidate for this position is a natural analytical planner with a deep understanding of production processes and strategic planning principles.
Responsibilities:
- Issue, post, and close manufacturing orders and part requisitions in the ERP system as directed by the master production schedule
- Report metrics as required by management for inventory management
- Determine raw material needs for on-time production and delivery
- Record production data, including volume produced and consumption of raw materials, as well as customer returns and replacements
- Report findings cycle counting audits and process month-end close out to maintain inventory level accuracy
- Communicate between Receiving, Warehousing, Manufacturing and Logistics
- Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, and engineering
- Recommend and implement process improvements in material flow and processing to increase efficiency
Education/Experience:
- Required AS degree in supply chain or inventory management and 3-5 years of experience OR
6+ years of experience in lieu of degree - Experience in aerospace, medical device, or semi-conductor manufacturing a plus
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Previous ERP experience (SAP preferably) with strong focus in MRP and MPS
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications
- Strong time management and communication skills
