JOB SUMMARY: The Massage Therapist administers professional massages and select body treatments to our guests. They must possess a thorough knowledge of the body, have excellent massage techniques and skill, possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our Spa's specific ritual and treatment protocols. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness and beauty solutions to meet the needs of our guests. They must hold and maintain a current state license.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Prior Spa/Resort experience preferred. Knowledgeable and experienced in a high end Spa atmosphere preferred. Working knowledge of Spa services and amenities helpful. Must hold and maintain a current State license. English language speaking required. Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills. Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality. Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge. Must be a team player. Must be open and flexible with varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to sit, stand, walk and work long hours between rest periods.
• Able to reach, bend, climb, grasp, kneel, push, pull, and twist as needed.
• Must speak, read and write English in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Maintain a professional presence in the Spa- this includes arriving to work on time, following all dress code and grooming guidelines, speaking in quiet voice and using terminology that is line with 5 star standards, and using a never say no approach with all guests.
• Acts as the ambassador of the Spa greeting and welcoming all visitors. Ensure each visitor is acclimated to the standards of spa use and spa set up, and signs an Intake Form. Assist all team members with morning setup and closing duties.
• Responsible to maintain all stations, rooms and spa areas ensuring cleanliness/sanitation, stations organized and well stocked, all items put away at the end of the day. Responsible for meeting all State Board requirements.
• Assists with monitoring the entire facility with thorough walkthroughs during any open scheduled time. This must include all areas of spa. Communicating any needs to Spa Manager and taking initiative to solve any issues that arise.
• Assists to maintain the soothing atmosphere of the Spa. Ensure music is playing, retail is clean and easy to shop, towel placement is accurate, the scent of the spa is light and welcoming, magazines are up to date, etc. Follow all checklists and protocols to ensure the spa is staged and is photo ready
• Organize/plan daily setup and close. Follow all checklists and protocols for open and close.
• Clean the Facilities per the schedule and before leaving each day to ensuring quality and presentation procedures are continually followed.
• Provide consistent professional massage services and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
• Properly handle and care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
• Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas.
• Actively promote home care programs
• Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required.
• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention
• Possess ability to work without direct supervision.
• Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
• Monitor and execute proper Boulevard system ; ensuring Boulevard is properly trained and executed.
• A never say no approach to handling all guest requests. Anticipate, identify and ensure guest needs are being met in the very best possible way. Develop and deliver credible, competitive, value-plus services to our guests.
• Assist in any other areas as directed by the Spa Manager.
