The Marketing Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of marketing activities, supporting the entire marketing team, including the Communications Specialist, the Content Manager, and the Graphic Designer. They must have strong writing and analytic skills, and keen attention to detail. As a member of the marketing team, communication is key, both internally and externally. Daily tasks can be anything from writing social media captions to proofreading marketing emails to assisting with banner production to helping alongside events. This role is perfect for someone starting out in the marketing world who would like to get a feel for the different aspects of a marketing department.

To succeed, this person should have an interest in the outdoor industry, as well as a desire to learn and progress.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Performs work that requires invention, imagination, originality, and talent for the Marketing Department
• Assist with communication and copywriting/copyediting
• Assist with brainstorming ideas for social media and marketing campaigns, including but not limited to: writing captions, radio scripts, taglines, etc.
• Help with daily social media interaction
• Track campaign goals and results/metrics
• Assist with audience/demographic analysis
• Prepare in-app and digital display communications
• Provide input on email, social media, and advertisement campaign strategies
• Must be available to work some nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
• Intermediate to advanced skier.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:
Candidate must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time and commute to and from the office. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. This job may require sitting, standing, walking, and skiing/snowboarding. Intermediate to advanced skiers/riders are preferred as this job will require on-mountain access.

Background Check:
Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving, or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
