Job Description
Society Awards is the only luxury brand in awards, and may be one of the few luxury brands headquartered in Charlotte, NC. We are looking for someone to head up our marketing activities who understands the luxury business and strategy, or who has personal experience to be able to learn it through our training. In our niche business, the marketing department is involved with a large variety of activities, especially centered around communications, advertising and digital. We need someone who can write in the company voice: dignified, poetic, and yet approachable, and who can leverage our incredible assets to continue to portray luxury in our brand positioning. The Marketing Director is a detail-oriented, highly organized project manager as well – this is not the role for artistic whimsy if it is not executed in an organized fashion. The Marketing Director must ensure that the artistic assets are set to work in a structured manner and that projects go sequentially, smoothly, and timely.
The Marketing Director will work directly with our CEO/CMO to coordinate and execute various projects involving web-based commerce, brand initiatives, and social media platforms. This may extend into working with outside PR or advertising agencies to execute mini-campaigns (which would be relatively large initiatives for a small business and team). You will be instrumental in managing key deadlines and making sure the trains are running on time. As the marketing director, you will have a mix of your own responsibilities and team-oriented ventures, whether handling the day to day on current marketing initiatives, working with junior positions managing social media accounts, or executing ambitious campaigns by levering our project management know-how. This position calls for a dynamic person with a passion for quality and aesthetics!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partnering closely with the CEO/CMO to complete transformational marketing initiatives and assisting in day-today optimization efforts to meet Company objectives
- Writing beautiful press releases
- Updating product descriptions on our retail website, and writing for new descriptive web pages

- Creating and adhering to schedules and timelines for various marketing projects.
- Using your poetic writing abilities to create beautiful luxury writing and copy across all platforms in addition to including press releases
- Proofreading content and exhibiting excellent overall writing skills with exceptional proficiency, style, grammar, and brand tone of voice
What Makes You Great for This Role
- You not only love style and design, but you can learn to set these intangibles to work for a corporation
- You love to organize, manage, and execute both small- and large-scale projects, using sound judgment to plan and prioritize many competing priorities
- You find joy in getting each step of a project completed and take pride in the final results
- You have a strong work ethic and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- You have a passion for aesthetics and are interested in brand messaging and positioning - including an understanding of luxury marketing
- You work well under pressure and eat tight deadlines for breakfast
