Job Description


Type: Part-time, $20/hour. In-Person Work.

We are looking for an energetic, adaptable self-starter to join our small but ambitious, driven team. As a growing nonprofit organization, iEducate is in the process of developing its social media and marketing strategy. You will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence by supporting & managing our social media workflow.

Responsibilities


  • Plan and develop social media content & campaigns for iEducate's Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms as needed
    • Create engaging, original content for iEducate social media platforms and schedule, publish and share content across social media accounts
    • Manage communication and engage with stakeholders on different channels
    • Research social media trends including trending challenges and sounds, and use to inform and generate content ideas
    • Schedule interviews and travel to partner elementary campuses, colleges, universities, and other locations as needed to film content and conduct interviews with tutors/stakeholders
    • Organize & maintain storage of photo and video content in iEducate's system
    • Assist as needed in the creation of graphics and flyers and across various tasks in the marketing department by using tools such as Canva, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Regularly collaborate with the Partnerships Team to evaluate strategies and plan content
    • Contribute to developing and monitoring social media analytics across all channels and propose ongoing recommendations to increase engagement
    • Regularly engage with other organizations/profiles on social media as well as on our own profiles
    • Document & report issues, progress, and goals to the Partnerships Team regularly to seek feedback and build collaborative solutions
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure cohesive brand representation

Prior Experience


  • Experience in creating social media strategies and knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.
  • Orientation towards working hard to meet ambitious goals; takes continuous improvement seriously and has a growth mindset
  • Orientation towards taking ownership and accountability for their work
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals different points of view with high levels of respect and humility
  • Ability to zero in on the main issues, prioritize and create strong solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency using common technology tools like Slack, Gmail & Google Suite

Work Demands


  • Ability to travel to different work sites to capture content/conduct interviews for content creation. Independents may travel to multiple sites throughout the day that may be significant distances from one another.
  • Occasional weekends and evening work required
  • A valid driver's license and valid automobile liability insurance
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Able to lift 20 lbs

Location
We are currently located in the heart of Downtown Houston at the Amegy Bank Building, off the METRORail on Main Street. We are known to take advantage of neighboring restaurants like Nara Thai, La Calle, or heading underground for local spots in the Downtown tunnels!
