What You'll Do

The Accounting team is a part of the Business Strategy group in our General Affairs organization here at Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. Our team manages all expenses and assets within this division of Samsung.

The Manager, Internal Controls reports to the Senior Director of Accounting and the responsibilities include, but are not limited to, executing internal control testing and internal audits, leading process improvement projects and supporting financial reporting functions. This role's primary focus will be ensuring compliance with internal control requirements per HQ by understanding and documenting the company's current process, identifying and evaluating deficiencies, and providing control guidance for operation enhancement and recommendations for process improvements.

Location: This is a Hybrid role, working onsite at our San Hose headquarters at least 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time

  • Lead establishing, evaluating, and maintaining compliance with internal control requirements per HQ
  • Understand and evaluate the effectiveness of the company's current risk management, internal control, and governance processes to lead various process improvement projects in Accounting
  • Analyze accounting data and interpret statistical information to identify areas of improvements and make suggestions for improvements
  • Proactively identify and monitor process and system changes that result from our growth in transaction volume, automation of processes, software application changes and other areas of change that have a direct impact the Company's financial statements and related disclosures
  • Design and perform internal audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting company processes and procedures
  • Develop, implement, and communicate policies and procedures within the department focusing on continuous improvement efforts to maximize efficacy and efficiency
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with cross-divisional teams by facilitating open communication and collaboration in alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Assist other managers' daily responsibilities as a backup when necessary
  • Participate in various ad-hoc special projects as assigned

What You Bring

  • Bachelors and 7+ years of experience, or an MS/MBA and 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in auditing, fraud risk assessment, or internal control evaluation; prefer Big 4 experience
  • Process innovation experiences in various accounting operations desired
  • Strong knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act and US GAAP or IFRS
  • Detail and team oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact and effectively communicate with all levels of individuals within the company
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with high ethical standards and integrity

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.


Base Pay Range

$108,000—$218,300 USD
