Lyons Magnus, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Planner for its Kentucky Facility.


This Position reports to the Maintenance Manager

Key Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis of required level of planning
  • Conduct field walk downs to identify and analyze corrective and preventative maintenance, modifications, inspections and to provide input for refining and improving work package quality
  • Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work
  • Make safety procedures, including lock out tag out procedures available to employees. Ensure that all aspects of the existing company safety policies are incorporated into the job plan
  • Estimates and require hours on work order tasks and total work order duration
  • Plans jobs with appropriate level of detail for the given workforce
  • Determines and includes QA/QC requirements on jobs
  • Process equipment and specializes tool and equipment lists for performing work
  • Determines necessary skill level of craftsmen to complete the job
  • Writes clear and concise work procedures
  • Determines and arranges for parts needed
  • Plans and kits parts for all projects to increase “wrench time” and maximum efficiency
  • Compiles information into a job pack to clearly communicate critical steps in the process
  • Upon completion of a job, recalibrates ideas and procedures that would make future jobs more efficient
  • Coordinates priority setting with the management team by placing specific emphasis on obtaining the input of operations personnel in the setting of priorities
  • Keeps bills of materials current
  • Helps operations and maintenance prioritize backlogged work
  • Able to accurately measure the maintenance backlog in its various forms and continually maintain no less than two weeks work of ready backlog at all times
  • Responsible for equipment and repair parts data entry and management
  • Participates in the scheduling process, attends scheduled meetings in order to communicate backlog and priorities
  • Compiles the information into the weekly skilled trades work schedule
  • Oversees the scheduling of proactive work to include predictive and preventative work. Notifies management team of the shortcomings in the execution of these tasks
  • Measures and reports the PDM and PM completion percentages on a regular schedule
  • Maintains equipment information and repair files
  • Ensures all work orders and maintenance log items are closed when work is finished
  • Participates in outage planning activities such as scope identification and control, scheduling, coordination, risk assessment, execution, and continuous improvement
  • Communicates with contractor resources directly on specific work orders assigned to the contractors and the performance expectations of the work order - - does not manage contractors, but ensures that all of the details of the work order are clearly communicated and understood
  • Participates with reliability personnel and improvement teams in improvement projects, particularly when they are related to improvement to the proactive maintenance plan (PDM/PM)
  • Advance in lean manufacturing and six sigma principles to eliminate waste, inefficiency, defects, and variation
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of working experience in a maintenance department or other technical related training as a supervisor.
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to give technical guidance to other team members.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • A team player with obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
  • Self-starter dedicated to continuous quality improvement
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible work schedule and the ability to work other shifts as needed and to work overtime and weekends.
  • General Housekeeping to maintain audit ready area of responsibility
  • Assist in development of Plant SOP’s as it relates to areas of responsibility
