We are looking for a talented Maintenance Mechanic I who will be responsible for plant maintenance and support of equipment throughout the plant. Working in partnership with the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Lead, and Maintenance Planner, they keep the plant and its primary electrical and mechanical systems running.

Location: Fridley, MN

Multiple Shifts Available

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Works in partnership with Maintenance leadership and Production leadership to perform basic maintenance and repairs on conveyors, packaging equipment, production equipment, electrical controls systems and other related plant systems.
• Records and documents procedural changes, assuring all equipment documentation is up to date and accurate
• Utilizing SAP, performs data entry into Computer Maintenance Management Systems
• Prepares unscheduled work orders to support production requirements.
• Operates, troubleshoots and repairs all production equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair 3 phase electrical components, and control voltage problems
• Perform stick or tig welding of small repairs on equipment in order prevent long term downtime until a permanent repair can be completed
• Collaborates with maintenance projects including new equipment installs and rebuilds
• Fabricate or modify support components of equipment and perform millwright activities
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Ammonia, boiler and wastewater breakdowns
• Other duties assigned by maintenance supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School degree plus specialized training (min 6mos-2yrs)
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Willing to work off shift hours, overtime, and be on call as needed
• Must be able to work well with others and have good communication skills.
• Must be able to understand written English including food safety technical terminology
• Basic understanding of food safety practices (GMP’s) and HACCP principles

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and use hands and fingers. Also, the employee may be required to lift up to 55lbs. This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
