Ice Cream Specialties is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to support production in a food manufacturing and packaging facility. Position also includes maintaining plant utilities such as boiler, HVAC, air compressors, refrigeration compressors, anhydrous ammonia system etc. Person will also be involved in maintaining the plant facilities. This includes building and grounds maintenance.

Duties:

Good interpersonal skills are a must.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair/owner manuals, engineering specifications, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Maintenance on processing equipment, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installation of equipment.
Adjust and repair packaging equipment as needed.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Interface with Operations to minimize downtime and maximize plant reliability.
Work with both Outside Contractors and Plant Operations to ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Other responsibilities as requested.
Education Experience:

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to read and speak English for safety purposes.
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
Qualifications/Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, push, pull products weighing up to fifty pounds out of confined spaces and occasionally having to lift product overhead.
Ability to stand, kneel climb ladders, and other physical requirements as needed.
Must be able to pass a post-offer drug test, alcohol screening, and physical exam.
1 Year Maintenance Mechanic experience minimum.
